Leanne - HR Manager
"I came to White Island Tours in 2000 with a BA in English Literature, lots of admin experience, four years of English teaching in Japan, three years of tour guiding around NZ and lots of overseas travel behind me. And what a ride the last nine years have been! I started here as a receptionist and at the same time learnt to guide on White Island. I then progressed to Reception Supervisor and four years ago was promoted to be one of two Operations Managers. Had some time off in 2006 to have a baby and have been working part time in the role of HR Manager ever since. Highlights for me have been guiding on awesome White Island, studying geology through Otago University a few years ago, being able to contribute to an exciting and constantly growing business, and being given opportunities to develop my own skills. I still get out on the boat every now and then to re-energise - on those days I know I've got one of the best jobs in the world!"
