How to get to White Island Tours ™
White Island Tours ™ is located near the central Whakatāne shopping area at 15 The Strand East. This is also the reception office for our accommodation, White Island Rendezvous.
Travelling by car you will find our office on the right hand side. Once you check-in for your tour you will be directed over the road to the Whakatāne Wharf which is where you will board the boat.

Driving
Whakatāne is located in the Eastern Bay of Plenty and is within easy driving distance of a number of cities and towns in the North Island.

Auckland: 3 hours and 40 minutes
Hamilton: 2 hours and 35 minutes
Tauranga / Mt Maunganui: 1 hour and 20 minutes
Rotorua: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Taupo: 2 hours and 5 minutes

Bus
Both Intercity and Naked Bus operate a daily service to and from Rotorua.
The BayHopper bus service operates Monday to Saturday from Tauranga/Mt Maunganui.
Please note that there is only one service per day in each direction and based on the current schedules you would require at least a two night stay in Whakatāne in order to do a tour.

Flying
Whakatāne Airport is located 11kms from White Island Tours ™. Daily flights are operated by Air Chathams. Shuttle services are available from the airport and rental cars can also be arranged.
